“Natural shades suit everyone, and champagne is by far the most popular. Sometimes it comes in a slightly lighter or more powdery shade, but there isn’t much variation in this favorite,” says Sirpa Karlsson, the Finnish representative for the Miss Mary bra brand.

Anne Turhala, the Finnish representative for the Chantelle bra brand, agrees.

“Finnish women are practical and buy less than, for example, French women. That’s why their bras need to work for everyday wear, including their colors,” says Turhala.

According to Turhala, a longtime favorite among Chantelle bras is the Orangerie, which is available in black, white, and burgundy, among other colors.

For those who are open to experimenting and trying something new, Karlsson and Turhala have some bolder suggestions.

“Don’t be afraid to try red,” says Karlsson.

“I’d try deep navy instead of black around this time of year, during the holiday party season. In spring, give pink, yellow, and green a chance,” says Turhala.

Subtle differences in color can make a big difference. If you love black, deep navy can be an easy way to try something new. Beige lovers can add a festive touch to their lingerie with sandy shades that have a golden glow.

“Café latte, a milky coffee shade, always works. Aubergine, a deep purple, is also an excellent option, as are blue and blue-gray. And I always recommend scarlet red to everyone. There’s always a red option in every one of our collections,” says Rauni Marttila, the Finnish representative for the PrimaDonna and Marie Jo bra brands.

Miss Mary bra expert Tiina Murtomäki is also a fan of red.

“Red is really on trend right now. Many people are surprised that red often shows through clothing less than white does. I also encourage people to try muted brown and explore different options without hesitation. Just as we buy eye-catching blouses, we should feel free to try on different colors in the lingerie department, too.”
